What is Burly?

Burly is a proprietary trading programme for crypto perpetuals. You pay a one-time fee to take an evaluation. If you meet the profit target inside our risk limits, we open a funded account for you, which is simulated like the evaluation, and pay you a share of the profit you make on it, in real USDC.

Is the money real?

Accepted Answer

Your account is simulated, in the evaluation and when funded. Your orders are filled against the live order book of the Bulk exchange, at Bulk’s real fees and funding rates. They are not sent to the exchange: no capital of ours or yours is traded on your behalf, and a simulated fill has no queue position and no market impact, so results can differ from real execution. Your payouts are real USDC, paid by us on Solana, and each one can be checked on-chain. Your only cost and your only risk is the challenge fee.

How does the challenge work?

It has one phase. Make 10% on the account without your equity falling 3% in a day or 6% in total, over at least 5 trading days. There is no time limit. Pass, and the funded account keeps the same two limits.

How exactly is the daily loss limit calculated?

At 00:00 UTC we record the higher of your balance and your equity. Your equity may not fall below that figure minus 3% of your starting balance at any time during the day. On a $100,000 account that is $3,000. Intraday profits do not move the limit; it is fixed until the next reset.

How is the maximum drawdown calculated?

It is static. On a $100,000 account your equity may never touch $94,000, whatever your balance has been. It does not trail.

Do open positions count?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Both limits are measured on equity, which is your balance plus the unrealized profit or loss of your open positions at Bulk’s mark price. Fees and funding payments count too.

Is there a time limit?

No. Take as long as you need. An account does expire if you place no trade for 30 days in a row; we remind you before that happens.

What counts as a trading day?

A UTC day on which you open positions worth at least 25% of your account size in total. Holding a position through a day, or only closing one, does not count.

What is the consistency rule?

In a challenge, your best day may be at most 50% of your total profit when you pass. On a funded account, at most 40% of the profit in the payout cycle. It never closes your account. If your best day is too large, you continue trading until the rest of your profit catches up; your dashboard shows the exact figure you need.

What leverage can I use?

5x on BTC and ETH, 3x on large caps such as SOL and XRP, and 2x on other markets, measured against your starting balance. Across all positions, the margin implied by those ratios cannot exceed your starting balance. Orders above the cap are simply rejected.

Which markets can I trade?

Can I hold over the weekend or trade the news?

Yes to both. There are no blackout windows.

Can I use a bot?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Automated trading through our API is allowed, up to 5 order actions per second and 2,000 per day. High-frequency strategies and anything that depends on sub-minute holds will not clear the short-hold check.

What is not allowed?

Hedging between accounts or with another venue, copying trades between your own accounts or from other people, letting someone else trade your account, latency arbitrage, martingale, trading against your own orders or influencing the Bulk order book to benefit your account, and holding more than one profile. What happens if I break a loss limit?

Your open orders are cancelled, your positions are closed, and the account is closed for good. You receive a report showing the rule, the time and the prices used, and a 15% coupon for a new challenge valid for 7 days. If you believe the breach was caused by a wrong price or a platform fault, you can appeal within 7 days.

When do I need to verify my identity?

Only after you pass. You can buy and trade a challenge with an email address and a wallet. Before we activate a funded account we verify your identity against the details of a government ID. Check that your country is supported before you buy.

How do payouts work?

You can request your first payout 14 days after your first funded trade, and then every 14 days. You need 5 trading days in the cycle, no open positions, and the consistency and short-hold checks cleared. A payout takes all profit above your starting balance; you receive your share and the account continues from the starting balance. We decide within 2 business days and pay in USDC on Solana within 24 hours of approval.

What is the profit split?

80% to you from the first payout. 85% after your first scale-up and 90% after your second.

Is the fee refundable?

Accepted Answer

Yes, in two ways. If you have not placed any order, you can ask for a full refund within 7 days of purchase. And when you receive your first payout, we add the fee you paid to it.

How does scaling work?

Every 60 days, if you have received at least 3 payouts totalling 10% or more of your account size and have a clean record, we raise your account by 25% of its original size and move your split up one step. An account can grow to 2 times its original size.

How many accounts can I have?

Up to 3 challenges at a time and up to $200,000 in funded accounts, growing to $400,000 through scaling. One profile per person.

What happens to my profit if my funded account is breached?

Profit that you have not yet requested as a payout is lost with the account. A payout you requested before the breach is still reviewed and paid.

Who can join?

Adults aged 18 or over who do not live in a restricted country. The list of restricted countries is on the Eligibility page. Using a VPN to get around it leads to closure without refund or payout.

What does it cost after the fee?

Nothing. There is one fee, no monthly charge and no paid add-ons. Your simulated fills carry Bulk’s real trading fees and hourly funding, which come out of the account balance like they would on the exchange, not out of your wallet.

Who is behind Burly and how is it related to Bulk?

Burly is an independent firm. We use Bulk’s public market data to fill and mark your simulated account, and we may trade on Bulk for our own account. Bulk does not operate Burly, hold your fee or pay your payouts.
